The Fund seeks donors to meet its objective of a permanent endowment of ₤25 million.  We aim to do this by raising a mixture of capital, term commitments (for example, three-year or five-year) and annual subscriptions.

Donors will receive recognition for their generosity both in Oxford and in China.  In return for capital sums of ₤100,000 or more, the Fund will arrange bespoke scholarships which will be recognised by the University and will bear the name of the donor in perpetuity.  Individuals and families will be able to name scholarships after their family or in commemoration of an individual.  Companies will be able to name scholarships to highlight their commitment to China and their sponsorship of its future leaders.  The Chinese Government will be notified of any scholarships named in this way if it is the wish of the donor.

Donors may wish to have the Fund arrange special award ceremonies for the students they sponsor which may draw public attention to their sponsorship.  They may also wish to be involved in the selection of their scholars and to offer internships during vacations or employment after the completion of studies.

For those wishing to contribute to the Fund by smaller capital funds, or by long- or short–term commitments or annual subscriptions, donations will be recognised by a framed certificate and by entry in the published list of the Fund’s benefactors.

All donors receive the Fund’s quarterly electronic Newsletter and other publications, and will be invited to attend the Fund’s social and fund-raising events.

Forms for donors can be found in the Support COSF page.  The Chairman and Committee members are available to discuss the Fund, its work, and the advantages to be gained from donating to it.  Please contact us at the addresses shown in the Contacts.
